LLC Formation Documents
Of the 4 steps required to forming your Pennsylvania LLC, filling out and filing the LLC formation documents are what actually “forms” your LLC with the Commonwealth of PA.
An LLC in PA must file these documents in order to exist under state statute.
The LLC formation documents will include some of the following information:
- Name of the LLC. This name must be available to use and must be “distinguishable” from existing business name
- Address of the LLC’s (or it’s commercial registered agent address.) For an LLC in Pennsylvania, this must be a street address. PO Boxes are not acceptable. You must use an actual physical address. In Pennsylvania, you can use your personal or business address as the address of the LLC.
- Description of the type of business the LLC will engage in or the sort of professional service the LLC will provide.
- Names and signatures of all of the member(s) organizing the Pennsylvania LLC.
After you fill out and sign the documents, the next step is to mail them to the state. Within 7-10 business days you will receive back a stamped and approved copy of your formation documents along with a welcome letter.
